Landfill Services

Following in the foot step of our parent company, Select Civil is now an established Landfill Services provider. We currently operate 6 long term Landfill Services Contracts in Sydney [Lucas Heights & Elizabeth Drive Resource recovery Facilities], Raymond Terrace [Newline Road Landfill], Melbourne [Melbourne Regional Landfill and Cleanaway Fraiser & Victory Roads Landfills], as well as Western Australia [North Bannister Landfill], with a combined tonnage of waste landfilled at these facilities in excess of 150,000 tonnes per month often in difficult & challenging weather & conditions.

To meet the demands of these sites Select Civil operate a fleet of Waste Handling Bulldozers [D7 to D9], 12 Waste Compactors [7 x 836 & 5 x 826], 8 Articulated Dump Trucks [40t & 30t] as well as various loaders, trucks, excavators & track loaders. Select employ in excess of 50 staff at these sites [inclusive of 4 Site Managers, 4 Site Foremen & 5 heavy plant mechanics] to carry out the contractual operations & maintain the plant to the standard required to perform these operations safely.

In addition to the services provided to the landfills, Select also offers waste handling plant on a long term dry hire basis to transfer stations, organic waste platforms and local Councils. Our clients appreciate Select Civil's ability to supply experienced on site mechanical support and back up plants to ensure productivity.

Elizabeth Drive Landfill - SITA Australia

Kemps Creek, NSW. Since January 2009

The Kemps Creek Resources Recovery Centre is a 65Ha site which is licensed to accept 550,000T of solid non putrescible waste, Commercial and industrial (C&I) waste, construction and demolition (C&D) waste and restricted waste.

The site also includes Sita's state of the art alternate waste treatment faciltity (SAWT) for which Select has been contracted to provide Mobile Equipment and maintenance of 4x 938H wheel loaders and a back up 950G.

Lucas Heights Landfill - SITA Australia

Menai, NSW. Since June 2011

The Lucas Heights resources recovery centre is a 125Ha site which is licensed to accept 550,000T per year of solid putrescible and non-putrescible waste including C&I and C&D waste and 50,000T per year of green waste to Sita Organics Composting plateform.

Select is currently contracted to provide landfill services on site, including a public drop off and resources recovery transfer station as well as providing mobile plant: 2x 950H and 1x 966H and maintenance for the green waste platform operated by SITA Organics.

Newline Road Landfill - SITA Australia

Raymond Terrace, NSW. Since April 2011

NLR is a 30ha site which is licensed to accept 250,000T per year of solid non putrescible waste.

NLR is a particularly challenging site located on an old hard rock quarry with very little access to cover materials.

South Cardup Landfill - SITA Australia

Western Australia. Since November 2014

SCL is our first venture into WA with the site receiving between 18,000 and 25,000 tonnes of non-putrescible and putrescible waste per month. Select is currently contracted to provide landfill services at the site. These services include tip face operations, stormwater & leachate management, maintenance of access roads & litter control.

As part of our landfill services infrastructure, Select operate an equipment workshop at the site inclusive of 1 qualified plant mechanic.

Melbourne Regional Landfill

Melbourne, VIC. Since May 2012

Melbourne Regional Landfill is one of the biggest landfill facilities in Australia. Select Civil, with the active involvement of its owner Transpacific Industries, will continue to strive in every possible way to transform this site into a showroom for best Landfill practices in Australia; from the use of fully integrated GPS technology to an OH&S and Environmental focus far exceeding the usual industry standards.

Hopefully our joint efforts will continue to translate into a partnership that will deliver a safe and friendly environment for Transpacific's customers in order to grow our business and services to the community.

Deer Park is a 900Ha site which is licensed to accept 1000,000T per year of solid putrescible and non-putrescible waste. Select is currently contracted to provide landfill services at this site which include, tip face operations, stormwater & leachate management, maintenance of access roads and litter control. As part of our landfill services infrastructure, Select operate an accredited equipment workshop at the site inclusive of 2 full time qualified plant mechanics.

In addition to landfill operations Select Civil are also a major contractor at the site. Additional operations for our client have included:

  • Load cart and placement of over 200,000m2 of landfill capping subgrade.
  • Construction of entry and exit access roads and infrastructure.
  • Design and construction of workshop facilities.
  • Design and construction of 300mm x 12m perimeter litter nets.
  • Design and construction of over 500m of site litter netting.

Transpacific Industries

Fraiser & Carroll Roads, VIC

Transpacific Industries operate a waste collection business and landfill operation in the South Clayton area of Melbourne Victoria.

TPI currently have two operational sites open at Fraiser Road and Carroll Road. As from December 2013 at the Fraiser Road operation, and from February 2014 at the Carroll Road operation, Select Civil took over the landfill operations. The combined tonnage of the sites per annum is in excess of 500,000 tonnes of waste with a mix of putrescible and dry waste between the two sites.
